Cubans churches have been pushing the limits on what the government will allow for years but it is still dangerous for students, religious teachers and leaders especially in rural areas to be outspoken Christians. While fewer people are being persecuted to the degree we have seen in years past, there is still the ever-present threat of government suppression of freedoms and rights. Christians are considered counter-revolutionary and as such means they may be unemployable, denied access to housing and put under surveillance.

WorldServe has been in Cuba since 1994 supporting church-planters who receive no government wage, distributing much needed scriptures and training materials to churches and seminaries, funding children's camps, marriage ministries, micro-businesses, as well as providing disaster relief aid.

We have strong ties with the Cuban Christian community and believe in equipping indigenous pastors with the tools they need to minister to their people. Many areas of Cuba are evangelized and we are delighted to be part of the effort to reach all Cuban people in every community!
